Our origin story
Augend Ventures began in a chance meeting in a Berlin hotel.
We were both Fellows of Included VC’s first ever cohort - sponsored by a coalition of VCs including Notion Capital, Creandum and Seedcamp.
By chance, we were sharing a hotel room, and we got to trading stories.
Through this, we discovered some deep similarities. We’re both:
- hands-on when it comes to building - we’ve both been early employees and executives in startups from pre-seed up to Series B
- motivated by mission and impact - we’ve both spent time in the public and social sectors with charities, schools and governments
- cognisant of luck, belonging and identity - we’ve both been fortunate in our privileges and yet also sit in different cross-cutting minority groups
In particular, we have a particular shared vision for a better world.
Augend Ventures was started on that vision - one where every human can activate their potential and be empowered to follow a dream, connected with like-minded souls and committed to meaningful causes.
